feline world of wonders

Feline world is so interesting.  I mean -- I learned a heck loads of things when Olin is warded in the Animal Medical Clinic for two days -- and still counting.  The verdict -- definitely not poisoning.  And it is very likely that the cause of death for Kappi is not poisoning as well.  The symptom may be very similar.

So, he had his blood checked, urine test, x-ray for his broken leg etc etc... Aku pun tak tau lah nak letak term apa dekat sini - something like his cell count is way below the par, which indicate that a virus is attacking his immune system -- something like that lah.  And it is very infectious among the cats.  So, me and my sis visited him today by which we were told that his condition is classified as a critical case that he needs to be located at the intensive care unit / quarantined area -- which is filled with definitely sick cats and dogs.  Which is ironic lah.  You're placing the sick pet in a room filled with critically sick pet also...  I'm not even sure how the 'quarantine' term is being put in use in this case. Haha!

Anyway --- for me, he seems quite healthy today -- in the sense the he can move around in his cage, his usual annoying meows and scratching his body against the cage.  You should see him when we first sent him to the clinic -- he don't even care that he's in a bumpy car ride and we don't really have to put him in a cage since he don't really bother to move much at all and he don't even have the energy to meow annoyingly like he used to.  Although it seems very scary to see him with that cone, and small tubes inserted to his leg and blood oozing out of it connected to fluid packets --

The bad news is -- the clinical bill is sucking my pocket dry, dude!  Added up to the fact that I have to put forward my money for the research work --- something needs to be done -- quick!  I know I have plenty of savings in the ASB, but then -- it takes a lot of hard work to save up to that amount -- and this research work -- urrgghh...

But, well -- at least it saves a life.  Kan?  So, if by any chance your cat suddenly don't have the desire to eat, if chicken or fish is no longer tempting to him, and if he's lying down, all curled up, with stinky saliva oozing out from his mouth, and it seems like he don't have the energy to move around -- go send him to the clinic -- quick!  Kappi only survive 4 days after he showed the initial symptom.  It's an epidemic in the feline world -- very infectious indeed -- it can be transmitted from the stool, eating bowl, sharing the same blanket, saliva, etc etc -- and don't worry, it is not harmful to the human immune system.

It may cost you some money -- but it's worth it to see that your pet is alive and kicking.

Olin, meowing, and annoyingly moving around that I can't snap a good photo of him.  I think he's embarrassed to be seen in this situation.
